About Us

UCMAS - A Global Organisation

About Us

In a world increasingly relying on technology to do the thinking for us, it becomes even more important to equip our children with tools that make their minds sharper, quicker, and more independent.

UCMAS -Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System, is an Abacus based program for 5-13 years old students, which is designed to enhance your arithmetic skills and also widen the scope for the child’s cognitive development.

In a noisy world filled with distractions and information overload, what a child truly needs is the ability to think clearly, act logically, and respond wisely. Problem-solving is not a gift, it’s a skill. A trainable, buildable, and sustainable skill. And UCMAS does exactly that. It strengthens the child’s ability to approach life’s challenges with confidence, creativity, and calm clarity.

UCMAS - Program

The abacus is the tool, but the brain is the playground. The long-term cognitive benefits of UCMAS don’t come from simply moving beads on a frame. They come from daily discipline, neural training, and mental empowerment. These skills don’t expire. They grow with the child, shape their personality, and become a part of their identity.
Every session of UCMAS isn’t about solving sums, it’s about building the brain. Children learn how to observe, interpret patterns, and think logically. They don’t just find answers, they understand how to reach them. In other words, the numbers are only the beginning. What lies behind the rapid calculations is the development of problem-solving frameworks, skills that stay with them for life. UCMAS stimulates both the left and right hemispheres of the brain. The left hemisphere is typically associated with logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and numerical calculations. On the other hand, the right hemisphere is linked to creativity, visualization, intuition, and holistic thinking. Most traditional education systems focus more on left-brain skills, leaving the right hemisphere underutilized. UCMAS bridges this gap by engaging both sides of the brain simultaneously through the use of abacus manipulation , mental arithmetic, and visual imagination.

Cognitive Advantages

How UCMAS Works?

At first glance, UCMAS might look like another math enrichment program. It uses the abacus, after all, a tool that dates back centuries. But what’s happening beneath the surface is extraordinary.

UCMAS Program Course Details

Why an age limit of 5-13 years?

A child’s brain is most adaptable in the early years. This is when the mind can grasp, absorb, and retain information in incredible ways. This is also the age when the brain can be trained for spatial thinking and visualization- a key to abacus manipulation in the mind. UCMAS taps into this golden window of development and develops Mental Agility- the ability to adapt your thinking and behavior quickly and effectively to changing circumstances.  UCMAS is not just training students to solve math problems, it’s training their brains to think differently.

Importance of UCMAS and Mental visualization

In the initial stages, children use the physical abacus for abacus learning. But as they progress, abacus teachers help them develop the ability to imagine the abacus in their minds. This transition is more than just a party trick. It activates the brain’s visual cortex and strengthens memory, concentration, and abstract thinking.

Now, imagine this same child in a science class trying to understand molecules, or in an art class designing a new shape. Their mind is already trained to visualize with precision. They can see before they solve, and that makes all the difference. Visualization gives children a rare advantage, it turns invisible thoughts into structured action.

In addition to the course, UCMAS provides platforms for students to participate in various competitions and showcase their mental calculation skills.
State Level Competition (SLC),
National Level Competitions (NLC),
International Competition (ILC)
Online Challenges
UCMAS World Competition.
